Plenary Sessions

Geotech: Essential requirement of modern warfare
With the focus of the battlefield now shifting to a network-centric environment, it is imperative for a force to equip itself with the latest technology. The session will try to explore the requirements, latest offerings in the market and the challenges that technology poses for security forces around the world.

Building GIS ready intelligent data infrastructure
For an effective geospatial setup, data is a prime requirement. Data is collected through a number of sources like satellites, UAVs, soldier on ground, etc. Making sense of this data is a challenge. But in today’s world, it’s not only the quality of data that matters but also the speed at which the information is made available to the end user. Ensuring security of this vital data is also a top priority. The session will have experts talk about how to build a sustainable geospatial infrastructure which will enable intelligent flow of information among all the organisations.

Collaborative approach to common geoinfrastructure
All future operations are going to be joint operations where desired level of synergy with flow of correlated and intelligent information among the three services is essential. For this, interoperability among the Army, Navy and the Air Force is crucial. This in turn calls for building standards, common symbology, etc. The session will try to explore the challenges in this area.
